Bedroom chandeliers

Products: 53

Bedroom chandeliers are VARGO ceiling lights that give calm light for the evening and bright enough light for the morning. More than half are LED chandeliers with an infrared remote: you can switch the light on and off, make it dimmer or warmer, without getting out of bed. The rest are chandeliers with an E27 or GX53 base, where you choose the bulbs yourself.

What light a bedroom needs

In the evening, warm light of around 3000 K is the most pleasant in a bedroom. In the morning, when you are getting ready or choosing clothes, neutral light of around 4000 K helps: colours are easier to see in it. Cool 6000–6500 K light is rarely needed in a bedroom.

For almost all our LED bedroom chandeliers the colour temperature changes from 3000 to 6500 K, and most also have adjustable brightness. So one chandelier suits both morning and evening. The infrared remote works when pointed at the chandelier — from the bed that is usually easy. See also: chandelier with remote control and colour temperature.

What size of chandelier suits a bedroom

Chandelier widths in this section range from about 24 to 78 cm, most often 47–65 cm. Rule of thumb: add the room’s length and width in metres and multiply by 8 — that is a suitable diameter in centimetres. For a 3 × 3 m bedroom that is about 48 cm, for 3 × 4 m about 56 cm, for 4 × 4 m about 64 cm.

Low ceilings

LED bedroom chandeliers are flat: their height is from 4.5 to 13.5 cm, and most are no taller than 10 cm. They sit flush against the ceiling and also suit a room with low ceilings. Chandeliers with a base are usually taller — up to 30 cm — so they look better with higher ceilings. See also: ceiling lights for low ceilings.

LED chandelier or chandelier with a base

In LED chandeliers the light source is built in: there are no bulbs to buy or replace, and the remote is included. Power is from 24 to 160 W; the “Power” filter above the list helps you compare models.

Chandeliers with a base take from 2 to 8 E27 or GX53 bulbs, and bulbs are not included. For a bedroom, choose warm-light bulbs (2700–3000 K); E27 LED bulbs can be ordered in Bulbs and other products.

Light by the bed

A chandelier lights the whole room, but a separate light is more comfortable for reading in bed. You can mount wall lights on both sides of the bed, or hang pendant lights above the bedside tables. Then in the evening you can switch the chandelier off with the remote and leave only the light by the bed.

Colour and materials

More than half of the bedroom chandeliers are white — they blend with a light ceiling and suit almost any interior. There are also black ones, black with wood or gold details, chrome and grey. The body is usually metal with an acrylic diffuser; some models have glass.

For a child’s bedroom, see kids’ room chandeliers; all models are in Chandeliers.
