Pendant lights

Pendant lights hang lower than a chandelier and light a specific spot: a dining table, a kitchen island, the side of a bed or a hallway. Our catalogue has more than 40 VARGO pendant lights — mostly with one E27 bulb, plus models with three bulbs and two LED models.

Pendant light above a dining table

Above a table, a light shines straight onto the plates and does not glare in your eyes. With a 2.5 m ceiling, a 100 cm tall light hangs about 1.5 m above the floor, which is roughly 75 cm above a standard table. Above a round table, one large light works well; in our catalogue the shades are up to 70 cm wide. Above a long table (about 180 cm), two or three identical lights, or one light with three shades, look better.

Lights above a kitchen island

Above an island you usually hang 2–3 small lights in a row at equal distances. Narrow models suit this: for 12 of the lights the shade is up to 15 cm wide, and they do not block the view across the island. Dimensions

Shade width is from 10 to 70 cm, for half of the models 14–32 cm. Total height is 80 or 100 cm. Models with three bulbs are 32–70 cm wide — they suit a large table or a living room.

Bulbs

Almost all pendant lights have an E27 base; each socket takes a bulb of up to 60 W. Bulbs are not included — they can be ordered in Bulbs and other products. Above a dining table, warm light of around 3000 K is cosier; above a kitchen worktop, neutral light of around 4000 K. Two models have a built-in LED: they do not need bulbs. In the bedroom and hallway

Two pendant lights on either side of the bed free the bedside tables from table lamps. In a hallway, a light with a narrow shade looks good if the ceiling is high. Other options: wall lights, bedroom chandeliers and hallway ceiling lights.

Colour and materials

The most popular combination is black with gold details; there are also white with gold, all black, with clear glass, with wooden details and copper-coloured. The body is metal; about a third have a glass shade, and some have wood or crystals.
